The program office of the Council of Europe in the Russian Federation has declared the acceptance of applications for the traineeship of graduates and senior students at the Moscow office of this international organization from May 27 till July 26, 2019.

The Council of Europe is an international organization headquartered in Strasbourg, which unites 47 democratic countries of Europe. It was established to promote democracy, defend human rights and consolidate the supremacy of law in Europe. The organization stands for the freedom of expression and assembly, the freedom of the mass media, equality and protection of minorities. At present, the Council of Europe carries out programs on such issues as protection of the children, prevention of the language of hatred online, as well as safeguarding of the rights of the Gypsies, Europe’s largest minority. The Council of Europe assists its member-states in fighting the corruption and implementing the required legal reforms. Its group of experts, also known as the Venetian Commission, provides legal advice to different countries all over the world.

The traineeship offers the opportunity:
The traineeship permits to get a general idea of the activities of the Council of Europe; complement knowledge received during the education process and apply it in practice; get experience of working in a multicultural and multilingual environment.

Duties:
· Administrative assistance in carrying out the office day-to-day work (assistance in organization and holding of various arrangements, fulfillment of the duties of the office assistant in case of his/her absence, receipt of telephone calls and queries);
· Translation of documents from Russian into English and vice versa;
· Search for the information, preparation of press reviews and the news for placement on the office’s Web-site;
· Receipt of correspondence, preparation of documents and letters.

Requirements:
· Fluent command of spoken and written Russian and English, the knowledge of French is an advantage;
· Full work day;
· Candidates should have the citizenship of a member-state of the Council of Europe;
· Be of the age of 18 as of the date of beginning of the traineeship.
