“Mathematical Teletraffic Theory” is a course about basic mathematical methods, which help to solve the problems concerning planning, performance evaluation, operation, and maintenance of telecommunication systems. Students are learned how to use such tools as stochastic processes, queueing theory to model mathematically the modern data transmission at almost every level of interaction of network devices: from user to machine or directly between devices. The tools developed are, however, independent of the technology and applicable within other areas such as road traffic, air traffic, manufacturing, distribution, workshop and storage management, and all kinds of service systems.
